Organisatie Stichting Cordaid

Cordaid works to end poverty and exclusion. We do this in the world’s most fragile and conflict-affected areas. We engage communities to rebuild trust and resilience and increase people’s self-reliance. Where poverty, conflict and exclusion divide societies, we connect people and communities. Cordaid is one of the leading Civil Society Organizations in the Netherlands, working in fragile contexts on Health, Resilience, Private Sector Development, Humanitarian Aid and Security & Justice. Cordaid has over 500 staff, working at Global Office in the Netherlands and in offices across the most fragile countries in the world. Within Cordaid we work on the basis of trust, accountability, cooperation and solution orientation. For our Program unit Cordaid is looking for an Expert Humanitarian Aid – Food Security & Livelihood (36 hours, based in The Hague). The Humanitarian Aid team aims to fulfill Cordaid’s humanitarian mandate to save lives and livelihoods of people in need of humanitarian assistance.

Cordaid provides needs-based humanitarian assistance to people affected by natural or man-made disasters and with particular attention to the most vulnerable people. We build the capacities of local organizations to prepare and respond timely, effectively and appropriately to unfolding hazards and disaster. We reinforce and complement the local capacities that exist and partner with other international organizations to obtain maximum impact (scope, scale, and speed) with high quality interventions that meet the international principles and standards for humanitarian aid. We promote emergency aid activities with resilient recovery as an effective approach to increase resilience & sustainable impact, and as a way to promote ‘Linking Relief, Rehabilitation and Development’ (LRRD) in humanitarian crises.
