Interested to learn more about Psychosocial Support, Child Protection, Education and Monitoring & Evaluation in humanitarian action? The internship at Programme Quality at War Child’s Office in Amsterdam offers you a great and inspiring opportunity to learn more about quality programming, the humanitarian aid sector and War Child’s mission to invest in a peaceful future for children affected by armed conflict. The Intern Programme Quality will report to the Psychosocial Support Specialist. Close working relationship will be maintained with the other team members. The Intern will support the account managers, particularly with research into institutional donors, identifying funding opportunities and writing grant proposals and donor reports.


  • Support institutionalization of thematic minimum standards and Core Humanitarian Standard
  • Support diverse elements of the Monitoring & Evaluation system
  • Support learning path processes
  • Support development of materials (for example: training manuals, intervention implementation manuals, roll-out plan for intervention mapping approach)
  • Support upholding child safeguarding standards;
  • Mapping of relevant technical resources and/or literature review related to specific projects;
  • Provide support to the Manager of Programme Quality with additional tasks.

Functie-eisen en profiel

  • Currently enrolled in one of the Dutch Universities or Higher Education Institutes
  • Student of Master program in Social Sciences, International Development Studies or Data Science
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NGO and/or development sector, preferably through prior work/volunteer experience
  • Excellent command of English language (spoken and written). Good working knowledge of either French or Spanish is a plus
  • Good analytical and writing skills
  • At ease with Excel and working with data and other software
  • Interest in development of e-learning is a plus
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Accurate, precise and eye for detail
  • Good sense of priorities and time management
  • Self-motivated independent worker with the ability to follow direction and effectively learn
  • Available 3 days per week, for 6-10 months, starting in September/October 2019.
  • EU national or eligible to work in EU

Ons aanbod

  • This internship is for a period of 6-10 months for 3 days per week, as of September/October 2019.
  • As per War Child Intern Policy, fee will be €200 gross per month (based on 5 days).
  • Please note that an intern at War Child needs to be a registered student at a Dutch educational institution.
