Terre des Hommes Netherlands is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Mica Programme (32-36 hours) The Mica Programme at Terre des Hommes Netherlands Terre des Hommes Netherlands (TdH NL) has been implementing the Mica Programme since 2016, with the objective to eradicate child labour issues in the mica industry through comprehensive interventions in India and in Europe, and soon to be in Madagascar. In addition, the programme has recently conducted a mid-term review, of which the recommendations will be actioned in the coming months. In sum, this is a dynamic and important time for the programme in terms of overall programme development which has led this vacancy to arise. Project Coordinator Role The project coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the Mica Programme in accordance with the outlined strategy of the programme, aligned with goals set by the Programme Manager. The Project Coordinator reports to the Programme Manager for the Mica Programme and is subject to hierarchical leadership from the Head of Programmes.In addition, the Project Coordinator will work closely with TdH NL staff working on the implementation of the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute programme activities as outlined in the programme strategy. You are a self starter acting under the leadership of the Programme Manager. Activities may include, but are not limited to, proposal development, relation management, research, campaigns and donor reporting.
  • Proactively identify problems or obstacles and resolve them as quickly as possible. Be alert on and anticipate opportunities, new situations or problems, and act on them at an early stage.
  • Support in the periodic reflection and updating of the programme strategy by organising workshops, field visits, etc. (1-2 per year).
  • Facilitate programme learning by organising learning sessions and linking people across the programme from different countries and teams, and follow up on lessons learned.
  • Maintain an overview of programme activities and track progress Improve work processes by developing tools and templates for programme management.
  • Keep the project team, and organisation as a whole, informed of key developments in the programme, and maintain transparent contact with TdH NL teams.
  • Provide ad hoc support to TdH NL organisational development when called upon.

Requirements

  • High level academic education at bachelor and/or master level in a relevant discipline.
  • High level applied or academic thought and working ability.
  • At least two years of professional experience in programme management in an international development context, preferably in child protection programmes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project intervention areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Experience of working with external consultants, researchers, and strategic partners is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of French and Dutch is considered an asset.
